KENYA HAS LOST HER GLORY AND INDEPENDENCE.

Not long ago the ICC prosecutor through a live tele-camera video from The Hague addressed the press. His address was meant to get to the Kenyan masses over the now global pursuit of justice for the post election victims.
You recall late last year Mr. Luis Moreno Ocampo short listed his probable prey list of six Kenyan power blockers as the persons with greatest responsibility over the crimes committed against humanity. These crimes are said to vary from rape, forceful eviction, and murder
These crimes going by the current day global unfolding are not so unique. These are cases our now reformed judicially can comfortably handle; yet realistically speaking we are at the apex of the international justice simply because we cannot handle this. While the PNU wing of the grand coalition government believes that our systems are up to the task, their ODM differ vehemently, and now enjoying the created crisis is the ICC prosecutor who wants to use Kenyan case as an example to the international community.
Unfortunately, this places Kenya among the failed states of the world. Is it not in failed states and governments that Ocampo takes such strides of confidence? Besides it’s for such countries that he earns a pay for. But whom do we blame for this if not our esteemed politicians?
Remember the number of trials made to set up a local tribunal? Two to be precise and the politicking class had faith that ICC will take a whole eternity. All this was intended to protect themselves and their cronies. Now Ocampo has moved with some terrible speed and the ruling elites are now crying foul and the best they can now do is to try a deferral of the case while another set of politicians crave for refferal.
These acts of cowardice have placed us in international arena. Today, way long from worlds known media houses to that village radio, Kenya is the topic of discussion. I don’t want to imagine the theme...... but the eventual summary? Kenya is a failed state!.
We are viewed thus because of our choices of our leaders. If they had in mind the Kenya we love and treasure then Kibaki will stop the Kalonzo’s shuttle diplomacy and Raila for heavens sake would not afford to write to the UN Security Council. Uhuru and Ruto would just shut off their public spats and attacks of their boss... the premier. This case should just pass off silently and let the legal brains crack while the common mwananchi keeps vigil on our economy and implementation of our newly enacted statutes.
I fail to understand how a country with a government can have the ICC prosecutor give marching orders to her chief of public service on what to do and issue clear sanctions to the secretary of state in charge of  her coffers on how far to go. This can only happen to a failed state.
It is unfortunate that we have a running government in place but we have our own kinsmen face the international whip.
Regrettably the church ought to face this situation with sobriety and offer a platform towards our recovery and healing. The scripture atones that, ` If my people who are called by my name shall change from their wicked ways and seek my face, I will hear them from heaven I will save them and heal their land´
This is the redemption that this country needs. Intercessors who will cry for our land. Men who will boldly lead the battle front to expel the spirit of doom holding our political leadership captive. Lets then champion for good leadership as Christians but we must not forget that the state is failing or it is already failed and we are needed to pray and take over leadership.

WHY RAILA WILL LOOSE IN 2012 POLLS.

After a grueling battle spanning for some two decades and counting, we eventually got ourselves a new document to govern us and guide our leaders in leadership. That in mind we can as well take stock of what the brandy statutes heralds.

Many of our politicians are now afraid of what will become of them after the imminent polls. This will and has already forced many into drawing boards with an aim of carving for themselves alliances that will safeguard their entry into posts and offices of influence. This will be done and achieved as they will be bled out of tribal affiliations and connections in the name of our time.
Mark you, the law and NCIC at this point becomes mare rhetoric.

Caught in this race that’s fueled by greed for power is the veteran activist and reformist of all time in Kenya, Raila son of Odinga. The second Kenyan PM is today a domestic name and almost every opinion poll will tell you that Raila is the 2012 presidential favorite. For sure the 2007 contest can easily illustrate that he is a force to reckon with.

Gunning for the same post is the son of the founding father Uhuru Kenyatta who serves as Raila’s deputy and finance minister not to mention that the outgoing president seems to have a soft on him when it comes to succession. Another contender is the envoy of shuttle diplomacy Kalonzo Musyoka and the vocal yet witty Eldoret North MP William Ruto.

Unknown to Raila is that this last bunch of politicians is no ordinary rot. And while they seem to wage a front battle headed for the same award competitively, all of them view Raila as common enemy. That aside they all want to sell Raila out as a betrayer since all of them have tasted the PM’s charismatic approach to rivals.

Towards 2002 elections Raila betrayed Uhuru .One easily recalls when Raila pulled his NDP out of KANU leaving Uhuru the project and Moi the project initiator for the dogs.NDP teamed up with NAK to form the mighty unstructured rainbow alliance that granted Kibaki entry to the house at the top. These bitter herbs are still vivid to Uhuru and his fanatical enthusiasts

The same Raila betrayed Kalonzo towards the 2007 contest. They fought together to floor the banana constituon in 2005.This begot the Orange opposition front which Raila as the possible flag bearer. Kalonzo tried to gain control of the orange but he was no match for the son of our first VP. He quit the Raila Orange and fronted Julia Ojiambos Orange that has a K somewhere. Don’t you forget Kalonzo has his support in the Eastern province of Kenya.

Down to Ruto. He was an avid champion of the Raila policies. Successfully he marshalled Rift Valley to support Raila in his quest and true to it the response was overwhelming. Not long after the polls, Ruto and Raila could not agree on simple party issues and this filtered to national issues such as Mau saga and the dreaded ICC phenomena. Today Raila and Ruto cannot take tea together and majority of Rift Valley voters can hardly trust Raila with their votes.
Clearly all these men have a reason to eye Raila with venom. Raila appears too strong for each individual; and this demands an alliance.

But still these three men cannot just join hands at this early point. The law gives the specific victory threshold for presidency. Therefore all three are likely to go for the ballot, and then whoever comes second after Raila takes re-run with all their combined influence to beat the ODM principal.
Should this succeed then Raila goes out into the political cold a long period of five years and when we go for 2017 elections he will be so irrelevant. Mark you this is  if and only if Ocampo does not succeed in his endeavour of holding some people captive for crimes against humanity.

MPs dash home again...

The house in session.
After a stormy session with MPs divided along political parties and tribal affliations, the House unanimously approved the motion to adjourn. This came with a view that the break will offer them opportunity to lower political temperatures and restore unity crucial for the implementation of the new Constitution.

This session was recalled by the president in January to pass two crucial Bills on reforming the Judiciary and the one on the Commission on the Implementation of the Constitution.

But as fate will have it,the politicians had their share of it;leading to heightened political temperatures that dominated debate in the House as legislators chided senior politicians for their public spats.

Backbenchers accused the Executive of embarrassing the State for fighting in public.Still the 2012 succession raised  storm with KKK alliance at  the centre stage while the  president made  disputed  nominations.

While moving the Motion of adjournment on Wednesday the deputy leader of government business Amos Kimunya told the House that MPs needed to go back to the grassroots to ascertain the needs of their constituents.

Kimunya noted the need for legislatures to go back and seek fresh mandate from the electorate,"It's time we went to our constituencies and got fresh mandates from our people. It's time we went to review what is happening with our CDF projects,"

The House is expected to be recalled after a fortnight to approve extra spending on drought mitigation (Sh8 billion), the implementation of a new Constitution (Sh3.4 billion) and an unspecified amount for border security in response to terrorist threats.

Also in the agenda for the forthcoming fifth session of the Tenth Parliament is the Budget for the next financial year and implementation of the Constitution, including passing laws on devolution and electoral reforms.

MPs will be required to approve a fresh list of nominees for the offices of Chief Justice, Attorney General, Director of Public Prosecutions and Controller of Budget, after the President withdrew the initial nominations.

PM Raila Odinga
While contributing on the motion the PM said that a short recess will ensure legislatures cooled off and came back  "refreshed" .

On reconvening this will be the second last session before the house is dissolved for elections as required by the new constitution.
The one million dollar question in the minds of many a Kenyans is,will the MPs really be out to refresh or create more ground for bickering and politicking?

SAYARE RTVN JIGGER CAMPAIN 2010

More than twenty homesteads in Eldoret South Constituency in Wareng District are jigger infested. We visited some of the homes in the company of the municipal and MTRH health officials.
Anti-jigger campaigners have blamed poverty for the slow progress in the fight against the parasite in Langas. Health officers from Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, who had accompanied SAYARE team, said more re-sources were needed to boost the economic wellbeing of those afflicted.
The infestation of jiggers in the entire Langas estate has paralyzed the movement of residents. The victim’s feet and fingers have been disfigured. Poverty and lack of proper hygiene is evidence in the affected homes.
Speaking at Kambi Nguruwe Estate in Langas, where more than 30 residents turned up for treatments at the weekend, Mr. Kirwa who is the public health officer working with the MTRH echoed SAYARE’s move to support the vulnerable in the community terming it as well thought move. He advised the residents to improve their cleanliness in order to eradicate other diseases.

The company’s human resource manager, Mrs Evelyn Kilimo who is also the C.E.O’s personal assistant promised to reach out to the affected families being one of the responsibilities of SAYARE RTVN MINISTRY and ensure that jiggers were eradicated from the entire Langas slums.
